Reproduction rights

The documents presented on the Lieutenant Governor of Québec’s website have been produced and assembled to offer Internet users direct access to information concerning the Lieutenant Governor.

All the documents are protected by the Copyright Act, the legislation, policies, and regulations of Canada, and by international agreements. The provisions reveal the source of the information, and, in certain cases, prohibit copying the documents without written authorization.

Non-commercial copying

The information displayed on the Lieutenant Governor of Québec’s website is accessible for personal or non-commercial public use only. It can be copied in whole or in part, except the information that appears under the “Residence” section, by any means whatsoever without charge or further authorization. To do so, however:

  • the user must display due diligence by ensuring the accuracy of the documents copied;
  • the Office of the Lieutenant Governor must be acknowledged as the source;
  • the copy must not be presented as an official version of the documents copied nor a copy made in affiliation with the Office of the Lieutenant Governor or with its approval.

Reproduction for commercial purposes

The reproduction of multiple copies of documents that appear on the Lieutenant Governor of Québec’s website to disseminate for commercial purposes is prohibited except with the written permission of the copyright administrator.

Third-party documents

Certain graphic elements presented on the Lieutenant Governor of Québec’s website are subject to the copyright of other organizations. In such cases, certain restrictions affecting the reproduction of such elements may apply and it may be necessary to obtain the permission of the copyright holder before using the elements.
