I would like to express my gratitude to the Royal 22nd Regiment for the openness and respect demonstrated by incorporating First Nations traditions during the ceremony marking my induction as a full member of the 22nd Regiment.
At this historic turning point in relations between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada, yesterday was a moment filled with exchanges of symbols and protocols, representing a true model of reconciliation... I would even say... reconcili-action!
I am honored to be part of this great family.
