Tonight, I have the privilege not only to attend the Gala marking the 50th anniversary of Quebec Native Women (QNW), but also to present them with the medal for exceptional merit.
Over these fifty years, QNW has been at the forefront of social struggles for Indigenous women in the province. The organization has advocated for the improvement of their living conditions by promoting non-violence, justice, equal rights, and health.
Ladies, continue to trust your canoe and where the current leads, keep following the river and your values. Together, let's break the fake glass ceilings, for our strength lies in our unity; it is together that we succeed.
Your work is absolutely crucial, and you can be proud of your accomplishments. Here's to your next fifty years!
